Lesson 6: Friction
HookShow students two videos of people running. The first will be on a track, the second on ice. Have students discuss in small groups why it is easier to run on the track than it is on the ice. Groups will present to the class.

Teacher will describe to students how friction can be calculated. Problems from the Newton's law section can be revisited with friction now being added to the mix.
Debrief
Students will fill out an exit slip with one way the friction aids us and one way which friction hinders us.
